Overview
River Road is owned and operated by creative arts teachers focused on providing personalised leanirng experiences to students of all ages and abilities.
Teachers
We provide qualified and highly experienced teachers, combined with content and learning methods designed to the quality found at universities and Conservatoriums. River Road is founded, owned, and run by leading music educators, with experience in teaching at universities and the best creative arts colleges around the globe.
Its all about you!
River Road tailors the learning by developing a Personalised Learning Plan for each student, which includes matching the teacher/mentor to your style and musical outputs. The plan also includes creative goals, leanirng outcomes, and milestones to support students in achieving creative goals.
Most importantly, we don't limit your ambitions and aspirations. It could be learning to write a song to producing an orchestral score. It could be performing in a Heavy Metal band, creating an Electronic Music EP and tour, even developing an app or music for games or film! We also cater for students interested in management, whether for their own music or working with other artists or bands
Learning Experiences
We allow students to gravitate to areas of interest, including various teachers and topic areas that will either support current ambitions, or spark new aspirations!
Teacher Support & Training
We also specialise in supporting teachers transition their craft and experience into online or face to face teaching
Software & Technology
We are DAW agnostic! Bring any software or device you wish!
If engaging in online sessions, we use video conferencing software Zoom, which will require you to meet the technical requirements, outlined in our Technical Requirements Guidelines

Minor Learning Outcomes
• Secondary learning outcomes which are necessary to achieving the Ultimate Learning Outcome

How are one one one sessions scheduled, are they every week?
At River Road, we understand that learning does not always align to the rigid scheduling of common educational business models. At River Road, sessions are scheduled to suit the student’s availability, skill level, goals and aspirations.
Utilising the Learning Pathways Plan mentioned above, depending on the project or work and learning required, sessions may be every week, every fortnight, once a month. Some students may want an intensive delivery, and schedule their course within the week - if all parties agree that is the best Learning Pathway Plan.
How long is each session?
One on one sessions are aviable as either 30min, 45min or 1hr sessions.
Do students need any specific software?
No, at River Road, we are software agnostic. Our teachers are trained and experienced in a number of various Digital Audio Workstations, but ultimately, are experienced to manage any type of music making software or devices you bring to your session.
If you are starting out, but do not have any production software or devices, this can be discussed in your first session or with a River Road staff member prior to starting.
What’s the difference between River Road and other Music Education providers?
At River Road, we value the student, but we do this by equally valuing the teachers and course design. We understand that not all students learn the same, and especially in creative arts or music education, we know that goals and aspirations will vary greatly between individual students. With the Learning Pathway Plan, we will match the student to the teacher, and develop a learning plan that focuses on the student meeting their learning outcomes and achieving their goals - whatever they are.
River Road is also founded and developed by Australia’s leading music educators & course designers; all having taught and designed music courses for top education providers around the globe.
