As we bid farewell to another transformative year, it's with great
joy and gratitude that we reflect on the incredible journey of growth
we've experienced together at River Road. It has been amazing to witness and experience the dedication and passion of our students, support of our parents, and the commitment of our talented teachers. Together, we have cultivated an environment that fosters not just creative expression, but personal and artistic growth. As we look to 2024, may we continue to provide opportunities for exploration, learning, and collaboration. Our commitment to developing creative skill sets and fostering a love for music and creative arts remains our main focus, and we are excited to see what our students achieve in the new year! Thank you all for being a vital part of the River Road family, and standing by us as we navigate new systems, portals, procedures, and studio operations. As River Road continues to evolve, we are focused on continual improvement and development of operational and pedagogical frameworks to improve our studio delivery and continue to provide the highest quality of music and creative arts education. River Fest 2023! While we endured one of the hottest days of the year, River Fest put on an awesome array of creative works and performances.! We loved seeing our students and community groups hard work and dedication to music and the arts on display, well done all! A big thanks to all River Road teachers for guiding students and preparing them for River Fest! |

Music Therapist in the House!! This month Pat also became a Registered Music Therapist (RMT)!!! To attain this distinction, Pat successfully completed a Master of Music Therapy and fulfilled the registration requirements with the Australian Music Therapy Association Music therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses music and musical elements to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Music therapists are trained professionals who use their musical expertise to assist people achieve specific therapeutic goals and enhance their overall wellbeing. The application of music in therapy hinges on the recognition that music possesses the remarkable ability to elicit emotions, memories, and physical responses. This quality renders music an invaluable tool for fostering communication, self-expression, and personal growth. Music Therapy services are available to all people, and is an approved NDIS support. Tune In: Music and Arts Expression Sessions Join us for a series of FREE immersive music and art workshops in the Southern Highlands this summer school holidays. Our Ramshackle Orkestra is back next year, with a ongoing day of Mondays 7pm now locked in starting 5th Feb. Dilly Choir rocking it at Carols!! The Dilly Choir blew the Christmas stockings off the audience with their first Christmas Carols performance at the Wollondilly Shire Council’s Christmas in The Gardens on the 8th December. This included a warm up session with the choir taking it to the streets of Picton carolling with Picton Businesses in partnership with Wollondilly Shire Council Tourism and Business Team. A big thanks to our amazing choirmaster and singing teacher Annie Hughes who did the carol arrangements (no easy feat), and ensure the choir was ready to go. They sounded amazing and all should be proud. The choir meets Wednesdays 7pm, back in the studio 7th Feb. |

River Road and Vinnies Collaboration Did you know that we have been going on tour every week to run musical workshops with the amazing people at Creative Space Southern Highlands? 🎵🎶 Run by Vinnies Australia, The Creative Space is an inclusive, welcoming, and safe place for adults. They want to make sure everyone has access to the arts so they run all sorts of amazing creative workshops for the community. 🧡 We kick these off again every Thursday starting 8th Feb 2024. |

Holiday Camps and Workshops This school holidays we will have our Music, creative arts and Robotics workshops, back to provide some much needed creative outlet during the school break. These will take place from the 23rd January, but watch our socials for when booking links go live next week. |

Wollondilly Mens Music Cave The mens music cave will be back in 2024 with our first session back on Sunday 28th January 2024, 9am-11am. The mens music cave meet the last Sunday of each month and welcome all male in the Wollndilly to join us in making some music, having a chat, and enjoying som breakfast. |

Udio Account and Term 1 Roll Over Over the last term we implemented a new student management platform Udio, which aims to streamline our operations, but also provide students and parents greater visibility and management of their lessons. Please ensure all student details are up to date including outstanding Term 4 fees. As For Term 1 2024: What We’ll Do: We will begin to automatically roll over all students currently enrolled in Term 4, into Term 1 2024 What you need to do: Let us know asap if any changes to your lessons for Term 1 2024, up until ‘Final Date for Changes 22nd Jan’ From 22nd January 2024, all currently enrolled students are committed to Term 1, including 10 sessions delivered over the 10 Week School Term, including commitment to Fee’s and Policies on our Fees & Policies Page: https://riverroad.edu.au/fees If any questions regarding the use of Udio, please reach out to Pat patrick@riverroad.edu.au |
