Its been a very exciting April, with community events and kick off of Term 2!

A big welcome to new students families, and welcome back to all existing students. We all look forward to supporting you all through your creative pursuits.

Our Youth Stories hit a major milestone, with our Youth Stories festival, which providing an opportunity for youth 12-25 to share their creative works developed through various workshops.

We also welcome new teachers, Sean on guitar and Erika on violin. They add to our eclectic mix of educators providing creative education to our community.

Here’s what’s been going on…

Youth Stories Festival

Our Youth Stories Festival took place at Tahmoor Skate Park on 16th April, and the Warragamba Memorial Park on the 15th April.

This festival exhibited creative works produced by youth aged 12-25, but also provided opportunities for new participants to engage this project.

This festival was made possible with a range of individuals and organisations including: Office of Regional Youth, Wollondilly Shire Council, Joe Quilter, Tenille Salmon Soul Images, S.T.A.D.S, Art Fixation, The Cake Singer, Born To Ride Freestyle, Uniting, Bargo Men's Shed, Firebird Support Services.

Tune in and Connect Workshops

This month we had Rory and Neill providing a Bass and Rhythm workshop which explored ways bass and drums complete the band and can enhance overall sound.

The Tune in and Connect programs continues to open the studio, each Saturday, with new times 10:30am-2:30pm, with an array of workshops scheduled including upcoming didgeridoo workshops.

Rainbow Playhouse Preschool

We had our first sessions with Rainbow Playhouse Preschool this Month!

Its was great having these young and eager young musicians in the studio to make some music!

Cawdor Public School

We are getting ready to continue delivering our music program at Cawdor Public School!

Our schools programs allows us to bring the River Road ethos and creative education pedagogies to schools allowing kids to make music, create, and be themselves!

Creative Youth Drop In Sessions

Every Tuesday night, 7pm, our studio comes alive with an awesome bunch of youth making music, creating art, and being themselves.

These are free sessions, every Tuesday, 7pm (with free Pizza)

Dilly Choir

This Dilly Choir continues to meet meet each Wednesday 7pm-8pm.

It is a safe and inclusive group, accepting people of all abilities, identities, and backgrounds, including people living with a disability.

We are strongly encouraging adult beginners and those who have never engaged a music group before.

Volin Teacher Erika

We are very excited to introduce our new Violin teacher, Erika.

Erika brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on the violin, and welcome Erika to River Road.

New Guitar teacher Sean

We also welcome Sean to the teaching team, with Sean bringing his guitar and performance skills to River Road.

Student Details

Students and Parents are encouraged to ensure they have completed the student details form, provided in the original Confirmation email when we first scheduled your lessons.

Student Details can also be accessed and updated with each reminder email. Also please email Pat if you are not receiving lesson reminder emails or texts.

Term 2 Fees

All fees can be managed on our Fees page via link below. This link is also available in confirmation email and reminder emails.

For those enrolled in lessons for Term 2, please ensure you have set up one of the available payment options, or reach out to Pat if alternative payment options are required.

FREE use of Practice and Recording Spaces for Enrolled Students

Rehearsal and practice use of our spaces

We are excited to announce that we are making our spaces freely available to enrolled students to use as rehearsal or practice spaces at times when rooms are available.

This includes use of all our instruments, including the electric drum kits, guitars and pianos.

Additionally this includes recording gear and microphones.
