Note from Pat

Another amazing month has passed with more creative works, music, and photography happening in out space! Each week, the teachers and I are overwhelmed with the creative expression and works being created and congrats to all students who have put in a huge effort this month!

It’s great to have our Creative Youth Drop In sessions go from strength to strength (see link to vid further below!!), our Dilly Choir singing their hearts out, the Mens Music Cave rocking out some classics, and every afternoon we experience a studio full of vibrant and creative students making music and art in the studio!

In this newsletter, I talk about a very exciting project about kick off which includes a old bus being converted to a mobile studio, changes to the decor of our studio, our currently running programs, but also scroll to the end for administrative housekeeping.

Here’s what’s been going on…

Creative Youth Drop In Sessions

Every Tuesday night, 7pm, our studio comes alive with an awesome bunch of youth making music, creating art, and being themselves.

These are free sessions, every Tuesday, 7pm (with free Pizza)

Creative Dilly Bus

This month the Wollondilly Shire Council conducted a competitive process for gifting their decommissioned bus to a community group, where our application was successful!!

Our proposal was to convert the old bus into a mobile creative arts studio,This includes a Creative Space for Music Making and Urban Art, a Recording Studio, Mobile Community Radio station 'Dilly FM' and Podcasting Studio, Photography facilities, and a suite of instruments and creative arts resources to enable creative development and self expression throughout the Wollondilly.

We are grateful for the support of Wollondilly Shire Council, and artists and organisations that have already engaged in the project including Joe Quilter, Tenille Salmon, and the Bargo Mens Shed.

Studio Art Works

You may have noticed our studio looking a little more vibrant this past month, with visual artworks form our urban art programs on display.

Dilly Choir

This Dilly Choir continues to meet meet each Wednesday 7pm-8pm.

It is a safe and inclusive group, accepting people of all abilities, identities, and backgrounds, including people living with a disability.

We are strongly encouraging adult beginners and those who have never engaged a music group before.

Youth Stories Website

Our Youth Stories Website is now up and running, exhibiting the works developed by youth as part of our Youth Stories project.

This includes photography works, urban artworks, with ongoing works being added over the next month.

It also demonstrates some of the behind the scenes fun!

Didgeridoo Workshop

We were lucky to have the awesome Zane in the studio this month providing a Didgeridoo workshop, where participants were able to build their own didgeridoo and learn how to play it!

Mens Music Cave

The Mens Music Cave had its session last Month, with a good set list of songs coming along!

The music cave supports males in the Wollondilly area a safe space to learn an instrument and engage in a contemporary band.

The Mens Music Cave meets the last Sunday of each month 9am-11am.

Term 2 Fees

Reminder that fees can be managed on our Fees page via link below. This link is also available in confirmation email and reminder emails.

For those enrolled in lessons for Term 2, please ensure you have set up one of the available payment options, or reach out to Pat if alternative payment options are required.

Student Details

Students and Parents are encouraged to ensure they have completed the student details form, provided in the original Confirmation email when we first scheduled your lessons.

Student Details can also be accessed and updated with each reminder email. Also please email Pat if you are not receiving lesson reminder emails or texts.

Term 3 Fees

Please note for Term 3 we will be increasing our fees inline with our 12month fee review cycle. An updated fee schedule will be announced in our next newsletter.
