Note from Pat As we say goodbye to 2022, and hello to 2023, I would like to sincerely thank all the students and parents that have been with us this year! It’s been amazing to see all our students explore music and the arts, to be comfortable expressing their ideas, and develop their creative skills. In this final newsletter for the year, I wish to celebrate students individuality and self expression demonstrated throughout the year. Their engagement in creative discovery, asking questions, imagining solutions, attempting and experimenting various creative approaches - and to self reflect and self evaluate their own ideas is at the highest level. As teachers we were all inspired by students abilities to think big, and venture fearlessly towards the creation of music and art. For this we thank you, and greatly look forward to another year collaborating on your creative development.

End of Year Celebration and Album Launch! On the 10th December we celebrated the creative works and efforts of all our students with an end of year celebration and launch of our 2022 Student Works album, which kicked off music, film and creative works produced by all our students. Strings, Sticks, and Picks!! To further support our students and families we now have a select range of quality instruments and supplies in the studio available to purchase. This includes strings, drums sticks, guitar picks, guitar capos, reeds, rosin, beginner guitars, ukuleles, music stands and guitar leads. |

Youth Stories Project Kicking Off in January 2023, this project allows young people to learn how to develop your creative skills from professional musicians, artists and creative experts in specialised workshops and mentoring opportunities resulting in a showcase of creative works presented in the Youth Stories Festival during Youth Week in April/May. Bargo Mens Shed Last Friday 16th Dec, the members of the Wollondilly Mens Cave had thier first gig! Presenting the type of activities we do in the cave, it provide a fun and relaxed environment to put into practice the music skills developed in the music cave. The Wollondilly Mens Music Cave resumes next year, again the last Sunday of each month, with the next on 29th Jan, 2023, 9am-11am. Cafe Connect Music Session It was our absolute pleasure getting our festive spirit on at the Café Connect Christmas party at Wollondilly Shire Hall today. We rolled in with our kit of instruments and things got fun and loud! Thanks to everyone there for really getting into it. Facilitated by Wollondilly Shire Council, Café Connect is a free get together for over 55’s, where they provide information and workshops about health and wellbeing in an inclusive and social environment. Couch Surfing Doco We are very pleased to have the opportunity to help spread awareness of youth homelessness with today's workshop on how to make a documentary. Individual Lessons for Term 1 2023!We are. currently registering and organising students individual lessons for Term 1. If any changes availability for Term 1, please contact Pat 0408617143 or patrick@riverroad.edu.au Expressions of Interest - ‘Dilly Choir’After some enquiries into a local choir, we are reaching out to students and parents to see who may be interested in joining a local choir. Though, the Dilly Choir, will not be your usual choir, but an eclectic mix of sounds and styles within an alternative and creative approach. This also includes exploring other instruments including guitars, drums, percussion. It will be a safe and inclusive group, accepting people of all ages, abilities, identities, and backgrounds, including people living with a disability. We are strongly encouraging beginners and those who have never engaged a music group before. As a creative academy, this choir will still be a learning experience - in typical River Road style of being a fun, relaxed, a little crazy, yet innovative creative experience.
