River Road Newsletter!November 2022

Note from Pat As we begin to wrap up 2022, we reflect on the year it has been. We continue to grow, evolve, and as teachers, continue to explore and find the best ways to deliver high quality creative arts education. In this particular newsletter, I would like to thanks the teachers who have joined me on this journey, and committed their time and energy towards sharing their skills and knowledge with students. This includes Finn, Paul, Therese, Noel, Jimmy, Neill, Paige, Joe, Tim, and Miguel. It takes a very special person to want to teach, to develop the care and critical thinking required to evaluate a students learning path and the best way to cultivate knowledge and life long learning in them. River Road has been very fortunate to have such a high level of teaching experience on the team and again thank them for bringing this care and experience to our students. Thanks, Pat.

Here’s what’s been going on…

Student Works Launch & End of Year Celebration!! 10th December 1pm-5pm - Wollondilly Shire Hall, Picton. Upcoming is our inaugural Student Works Launch and End of Year Celebration. Join us as we launch our student works, enjoy our film screenings, student performances, community projects, Free BBQ, presentation and 2023 Announcements! Our Student works Album gives all students an opportunity to produce a piece of music, film or visual art. This is an optional activity, but encourage all students to produce something for the album. Teacher and River Road staff will finalise their works over the next two weeks in time for the celebration on the 10th. Student are also welcome to perform on the day with teachers working with students who wish to perform. Southern Tableland Arts is in the House! From 2023, the Southern Tableland Arts will be using River Road’s studio as their Wollondilly Office! We have worked closely with STA on a number of projects this year including Paint the Town Festival, and the 200th Anniversary of Bargo, Picton & Tahmoor. We are excited to have STA with us, and look forward to this collaboration further supporting our students and the Wollondilly Community! |

Pro Music Distribution We are excited to announce we have secured distribution with Pro Music Australia which means we will soon be stocking music gear including guitars, drums sticks, strings, straps, reeds, plus more!. This will help improve our teaching services and have these necessary resources readily available in our local area More info and to follow |

Youth Stories and Tune in and Connect Projects. We are excited to announce we have received over $70k in grants from the Office of Regional Youth to help deliver two major programs: Youth Stories: In partnership with Wollondilly Shire Council, we will be supporting youth learn and develop an eclectic mix of creative works, presented in Youth Week 2023 Tune in and Connect: This program allows us to open the doors on weekends for young people to engage with our teachers, guest speakers, and use the space to create, learn, and develop their ideas. This has an underlying Wellbeing strategy which will also provide resources for youth to reach out and seek help. More info including dates and sign up to follow |

Term 1 2023!Soon you will begin to hear from us regarding lessons and programs for Term 1 2023. This includes rolling over all individual lessons from Term 4 into Term1. If there are any changes to your time, please let us know.
